2025 CCH Health Fair is June 28

May 26, 2025

Casey County Hospital will be hosting its annual Health Fair on Saturday, June 28, from 7-11 a.m. EDT on the grounds in front of the hospital.

More than 25 health-care related booths, activities for children, concessions and a silent auction – sponsored by the Casey Hospital Auxiilary – will be available for guests to enjoy. But the biggest attraction of the annual event remains a low-cost blood draw to give a snapshot of a person’s overall health.

For only $15, those who have their blood drawn will be screened for 30 different analyses, including a complete blood count (CBC), a chemistry profile with HDL cholesterol, lipid profile, and a thyroid test. Also, men have the option of adding a PSA prostate cancer screen for an additional $10, which uses the same sample of blood. The PSA screening is recommended for men 50 and older, those who have a family history of the prostate, have had a vasectomy, or are African-American.

New this year is a Hep-C screening, which is offered at no additional cost. Those who have their blood drawn only have to request that it be added.

“We have been able to hold this low cost for the blood draw for several years now, and we know that it is something our community appreciates,” said Rusty Tungate, Administrator/CEO of Casey County Hospital.

An adjustment is being made to the blood draw dates of years past, as the Monday draw is being dropped. However, the Friday draw is being extended to the public where it has been reserved for employees and families.

Pre-Health Fair blood draws get under way on Tuesday, June 24, for those whose last names began with A-F. Wednesday, June 25, is last names G-M; Thursday, June 26, will be N-S; and Friday, June 27, last names T-Z. Blood draws will be taken from 7-9 a.m. each morning at the hospital. Please remember to fast, having only water to drink at least 12 hours before having your blood drawn.

On Saturday, June 28 – the day of the Health Fair – blood draws will be held from 7-10:30 a.m., with the Health Fair concluding at 11 a.m.
